How To Use Google Voice When Working From Home

This year, 42 percent of the U.S. labor force is now working from home, and 80 percent of the population is using smartphones during the workday. But what happens when you have an important call with a client or vendor, and you don’t want to give out your personal phone number? Luckily, Google Voice is a free and effective way to route a business phone number to your cell phone.

What is Google Voice?

Google Voice is a free phone number for calls, text messages, and voicemail. It can be used on smartphones and computers and can link to any mobile or landline number. Google Voice also includes voicemail, email transcription, conference calls, international calls, and personalized greetings.

How to Set Up Google Voice:

The first step to setting up Google Voice is to visit their site here.

Sign in to your Gmail Account, and select the “For Personal Use” Button.

Choose a phone number in your city/zip code.

Enter your phone number to forward these calls to, verify with a code, and voila! You are set up with your very own Google Voice account!
